The story behind Brisbane Bicycle Service
My name is Giuseppe. My relationship with bicycles began in childhood — I was remarkably good at breaking them, which meant I had no choice but to learn how to fix them. In 1985, my parents opened a family bicycle shop in Italy, and by the age of 13 I was already working on customers' bikes. Even then, I knew this was the best job in the world.
In 2006, I began working as a professional mechanic for racing teams in Italy, which took me throughout Europe and gave me the opportunity to train directly with some of the industry's most respected names — Bianchi, Campagnolo, Shimano, and SRAM. That experience shaped everything about how I approach bicycle mechanics today.
Over the years, I worked closely with riders who struggled to get the best performance from their bikes — whether through mechanical setup or riding position. I helped each of them personalise their configuration so they could elevate their training and racing to the next level. I have worked on the very best and the very worst of bikes, and I can honestly say I have seen it all.

Giuseppe
Founder & Head Mechanic
Giuseppe has been working on bicycles since the age of 13, when his family opened their shop in Italy in 1985. After a decade as a professional race mechanic across Europe, he brought that expertise to Brisbane — founding a boutique service built on precision, personal care, and a genuine love of cycling.

More than a shop
Sharing the knowledge
One of the things we enjoy most is passing on what we know. We run hands-on teaching sessions at your home, your local shed, school, or community space — covering everything from basic cleaning and maintenance through to stripping a bike down completely and rebuilding it from scratch.
These sessions are ideal for touring groups, adventure cyclists, commuters, and anyone who wants to feel more confident working on their own bike. Brisbane Bicycle Service has always been more than a workshop — it is a community built on a shared passion for cycling.
