New Bike Consultation

Your Next Bike,
Done Right

Buying a new bike is a big decision. We take the time to get every detail right — size, geometry, groupset, wheels, colour and fit — so you ride away on a bike that's genuinely built for you.

Complimentary professional bike fit included with every new bike purchase — valued at $100

Why It Matters

This Isn't a Transaction.
It's a Consultation.

Most bike shops sell you a bike off the floor. We don't. Every new bike purchase at Brisbane Bicycle Service starts with a proper consultation — because the wrong bike, even a beautiful one, will let you down.

Giuseppe has been building and fitting bikes for professional European race teams since 2006. He brings that same level of precision and care to every customer, whether you're buying your first road bike or your tenth.

We cover purpose, geometry, size, groupset, wheels, tyres, colour and budget — in that order. Then we build the bike, fit you to it, and make sure everything is dialled in before you ride away.

The Consultation Process

Six Steps to the Right Bike

Every appointment follows this process. Nothing is rushed. We want you to leave with complete confidence in your purchase.

Step 01

Purpose & Riding Goals

We start by understanding how you ride — road racing, gran fondo, gravel, commuting, or weekend fitness. Your goals shape every decision that follows. There's no point building a race machine if you're doing 80 km Sunday rides.

Road racingGran fondoGravelEnduranceCommutingTrack
Step 02

Size, Geometry, Fit — Saddle & Handlebar Options

Frame size is just the beginning. We assess your stack and reach requirements, handlebar width, stem length, saddle height and setback — all measured precisely against your body geometry. A bike that fits correctly is faster, more comfortable and far less likely to cause injury.

We work with our brand dealer partners and custom frame builders to match you to the right geometry — whether that's an off-the-shelf frame from Bianchi, Colnago, Pinarello, Wilier or De Rosa, or a fully custom-made frame built to your exact measurements.

Saddle selection is personal. We carry a wide range of saddles across different widths, profiles and padding levels, and we use sit-bone measurement to narrow down the right options. Handlebar shape, width and drop are equally important — we assess shoulder width, reach and riding position to find the right bar for your style.

Step 03

Colour, Finish & Customisation

Your bike should reflect you. We walk through available colourways, custom paint options and finishing kit — bar tape, saddle, bottle cages, tyres. Small details make a big difference to how a bike looks and feels as a complete package.

Step 04

Groupset Selection

Shimano, SRAM or Campagnolo — mechanical, electronic or wireless. We explain the real-world differences between Dura-Ace, Ultegra, 105, Red, Force, Rival, Super Record and Record so you can make an informed decision based on your budget and riding style.

Step 05

Wheels & Tyres

Wheels are the single biggest performance upgrade on any bike. We discuss rim depth, carbon vs alloy, tubeless vs clincher, tyre width and rolling resistance — matched to your terrain, weight and goals.

Step 06

Let's Build Your Dream Bike

This is where everything comes together. With your purpose, geometry, groupset, wheels and budget all confirmed, we build your bike from the ground up — every component torqued, every cable routed, every detail dialled in before it leaves the workshop.

We don't hand you a box. We hand you a finished, fitted, ready-to-ride machine.

And we don't stop there. Every new bike purchase includes two complimentary services within the first year — because a new bike settles as you ride it and benefits from a proper check-over. You also get four months of free follow-up bike position adjustments, so as your body adapts to the new fit, we can fine-tune your position at no extra cost.

Modern Bikes Are Complex

What You Need to Know About Today's Performance Bikes

A modern high-performance road bike is a very different machine to what was available even five years ago. Internal cable routing, integrated cockpits, electronic groupsets and tubeless tyres all require specialist knowledge to spec, build and maintain correctly.

We explain all of this during your consultation — in plain language, without the jargon — so you understand exactly what you're buying and why.

Fully Internal Cable Routing

Modern performance bikes route all cables — brake and gear — fully inside the frame and handlebar. This gives a cleaner look, better aerodynamics and protects cables from the elements. It also requires specialist knowledge to set up and service correctly.

Integrated Cockpit Systems

Many premium bikes now use a one-piece bar and stem unit. This improves stiffness and aerodynamics but makes sizing critical — you can't simply swap a stem. We measure you precisely before specifying any integrated cockpit.

Electronic & Wireless Groupsets

Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS and Campagnolo EPS offer precise, repeatable shifting at the touch of a button. Wireless systems eliminate cables entirely. We set up and tune all electronic groupsets in-house.

Tubeless Tyre Systems

Tubeless tyres run at lower pressures for better grip and comfort, and self-seal small punctures. They require correct rim tape, valves and sealant — all part of our new bike build process.

Disc Brakes

Hydraulic disc brakes deliver consistent stopping power in all conditions. Proper bleed and rotor alignment is essential — something we check on every build before the bike leaves the workshop.

Power Meter Ready

Training with power is the most effective way to improve. We can spec a power meter into your build from day one — crank-based, pedal-based or hub-based — and pair it with your computer.

Groupsets Compared — Shimano, SRAM & Campagnolo

Three world-class manufacturers. Each with a distinct philosophy. We'll help you choose the right one for how you ride.

Wheels & Tyres

The single biggest performance upgrade on any bike — and the most misunderstood

Key Wheel Decisions

Rim depth

25–35mm all-round · 45–55mm fast roads · 60mm+ racing flat stages

Carbon vs alloy

Carbon: lighter, stiffer, faster. Alloy: durable, affordable, easier to repair.

Tubeless ready

Lower pressure, better grip, self-sealing puncture protection. Our preferred setup.

Hub quality

Engagement points, bearing quality and serviceability matter over the long term.

Tyre Selection

25c–28c

Road racing and fast training. Lower rolling resistance, higher pressure.

30c–35c

Endurance and gran fondo. More comfort, better grip on varied surfaces.

38c–45c

Gravel and adventure. Versatile across sealed and unsealed roads.

Tyre compound & TPI

Higher TPI casing = more supple, lower rolling resistance. Compound affects grip and durability.

Custom Frame Programme

Signorello Custom Frames

Handmade in ItalyProfessional Artisan

Italian Artisan Line

Crafted by hand in Italy by professional artisans. Each frame is built to your exact measurements — a true bespoke bicycle made the traditional way, with uncompromising attention to detail and finish.

Available Materials

Carbon

Lightweight, stiff and responsive. Hand-laid Italian carbon for the ultimate performance frame.

Titanium

The lifetime frame material. Exceptional ride quality, corrosion-proof, and built to last decades.

Steel

Classic Italian craftsmanship. Smooth, compliant ride with a character no other material matches.

Stainless Steel

The premium steel option. Corrosion-resistant, polishable, and extraordinarily durable.

High-Quality CarbonToray Carbon

Carbon Performance Line

Custom-sized carbon frames manufactured in Asia using high-quality Toray carbon fibre. The same material used by leading WorldTour brands — at a more accessible price point, with full custom sizing and paint.

Toray Carbon — What It Means

Toray Carbon Fibre

The world's leading carbon fibre manufacturer. Used by Pinarello, Colnago, Bianchi and virtually every top-tier brand.

Custom Sizing

Not an off-the-shelf size — your frame is built to your exact stack, reach and tube length requirements.

Custom Paint

Full custom paint programme available on both lines. Your colours, your finish, your bike.

Geometry Options

Both lines are available in four geometry profiles — chosen to match your riding style and body requirements.

Aero

Aggressive, low-stack race geometry optimised for speed. Tight angles, short head tube, maximum aerodynamic advantage.

All-Round

The versatile race geometry. Fast enough for competition, comfortable enough for long days in the saddle. The most popular choice.

Gravel

Relaxed head angle, taller stack, clearance for wider tyres. Built for mixed-surface riding, bikepacking and adventure.

Special / Therapeutic

Custom geometry designed around your body's specific needs — injury history, flexibility limitations, or medical requirements. Built with your physio or fitter.

Custom Paint — Both Lines

Every Signorello frame — Italian artisan or carbon performance — is available with a fully custom paint finish. Solid colours, fades, panel designs, team liveries. We handle the paint specification as part of your consultation, and our Paint Studio can match or complement any vision you have.
